Laura Linney's portrayal of vulnerable and yet powerful characters has made her one of today's greatest American actors. Born to a famous playwright's father but was raised by a single mom who worked by working as a nurse. She became interested in theatre while spending summers with her father and eventually pursuing a degree in acting initially as a student at Brown University and then at Juilliard School. Within a mere two months after graduating, she launched her Broadway-based career. Following that, she made her first appearance in TV and film. She has appeared in innumerable films, and television as well as stage productions ever since. During her career she received several awards, among them her two Golden Globe Awards. Despite her numerous nominations, she has a passion for theatre and has appeared on stage and screen.
