April Lockhart
April Lockhart was born on July 4 1995 in seventh grade. She began playing guitar and taking piano lessons, sparking her love for songwriting. In the teen years, April wrote her first tune Different. When she was 14 April, she spent a lot of time writing and honing her singing skills. After that, she started taking trips to write with her father in NY and LA. April started to include other subjects in Take My hand for her pals who were struggling with disabilities, peer pressure or suicide. Lockhart is a lifestyle and beauty influencer that has an ever-growing following. She is a partner with the popular brand Ilia together, and is also a lifestyle expert. Lockhart was born without a left hand, and it's one aspect of who she is, but that's not the entire story. In the end, Lockhart's profile does not shy away from the fact that she is disabled, but she doesn't focus on her disability either. The message? that we are all a part of a multitude that our identities are complex and that we're much more than just our physical self. We don't want to allow that to make me feel like I'm to be a disability influencer who only talks about since there are numerous other aspects of me Lockhart states in video form from her residence in Nashville. And it doesn't affect my everyday life. I go about all the things I normally do and I've developed ways to manage the things. But it's also a part of me which is why I think it's important that we talk about. Lockhart's self-acceptance journey is one that can last for a long time, and she has been a source of inspiration on this front. She has been through times when she was uncomfortable dressing in certain styles that displayed her arms. Today, she wears whatever she wants and posts pictures of herself in these outfits on the internet with a sense of pride. She says that self-love is a journey. I'm not certain if it will ever be over. However, I believe that's the case with every person, whatever their vulnerability may be. People you spend time with that truly understand you, and can see into your soul are those that will help you remember about the importance of your life.
